Clutch Garage Artists

Welcome to the Garage Blog — ClutchCloth’s Latest Chapter

At ClutchCloth, everything has always started in the garage — from our sketchpads to screenprints. Every tee we’ve dropped has been based on something we built, broke, raced, or obsessed over. We’ve always handled the designs ourselves, keeping it tight and personal.

But we’ve been thinking — there’s a ton of talent out there. Artists already pouring their love for cars into amazing digital or traditional art. So why not open up the garage and make space for them too?

Introducing: Garage Artists

This isn’t a pivot. It’s an expansion.

Garage Artists is our new way of collaborating with creatives who share the same obsession with cars — from vector illustrators and digital painters to track photographers and stylized sketchers. We're not here to replace their platform. We're here to give them another one.

The goal is simple: we take care of all the messy stuff — product setup, mockups, printing, customer service — and let artists focus on their craft. They get credit, a share of the profits, and a direct affiliate link for their audience. We’re trying to build a space where great car art lives on great gear — and help creators actually earn from their passion.

We Still Do Our Own Stuff

Let’s be clear — ClutchCloth isn’t outsourcing its identity. We’re still making the same rowdy, nerdy, obsessive car designs that helped launch this brand in the first place. We’re just making room for others at the same time.

We’re a car culture brand, not just a merch store. The goal isn’t to drop random graphics. It’s to tell real stories — from the build to the burnout to the artwork. Whether it's our in-house pieces or something made by a guest artist, the standard is the same: if you wouldn’t wear it to your garage, track day, or meet, it doesn’t belong here.

Our First Artist Collab: Dennis & the Slobra

We kicked things off with a banger. Dennis Drummond’s 2003 Mustang Cobra — aka the Slobra — isn’t just a local legend. It’s a fire-breathing, E85-drinking, small-tire monster that’s crushed at Cash Days, Miles of Mayhem, and Door Warz.

We took a photo by @stevint and turned it into a clean vector illustration — capturing every detail from the stance and slicks to the front-exit exhaust. The final shirt is bold, lightweight, and made to be beat up in a garage or rocked trackside.

You can check it out right here.

What’s Next? You Tell Us.

We’re already in talks with a few rad artists — digital illustrators, automotive sketchers, even guys who just snap wild shots of their rides. Some are from right here in Canada, others from across the pond. The Garage Artists roster is gonna grow fast — and we’re stoked to see where it goes.

If you’re an artist, or you know someone whose work should be on a hoodie or tee, check this out: Garage Artists info page. We’ve made it super easy to get involved — and yes, we send over a quick contract so both sides are protected.

Build Plans...Delayed

So here’s the truth: we wanted to kick off a vlog series too — something raw and behind-the-scenes. We even lined up our first project car: the family hauler turned side project, an Audi Q7.

Of course, like every first build after a big life change, it’s already fighting back.

We’re talking oil consumption issues, an exhaust leak, and the general joy of trying to wrench in a Canadian garage that hasn’t been fully set up yet. So while the camera’s still packed away for now, the plans haven’t gone anywhere. You’ll see awkward on-camera content from us soon — promise.

Final Gears

We’re still a small Canadian brand. No giant warehouse, no agency doing the heavy lifting. Just a few of us, trying to build something real for car lovers — from shirts and hoodies to actual community.

If you’re reading this, you’re already part of it. Thanks for sticking around.

Let’s build something cool.
