Tyler Twerdun’s not chasing trends — he’s dragging a Volvo wagon into territory no one saw coming.
His 1978 Volvo 245 started life as a square-bodied sleeper, but now it’s a full-on Heads-up weapon with real track pedigree. Built in his garage with help from friends, powered by a Gen 3 6.0L LS (built by Infamous Racecraft), and boosted by a VS 88/103, this isn’t some show queen swap. It’s back-halved, set up for 28x10.5 tire, and driven through a PTC converter, Powerglide transmission, and Ford 9-inch rear. Fueling and tuning handled by FuelTech FT600, locked in by Merkl Motorsports.
